Where Have I Been?! ❤
Life Updates + Resolutions

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that we can't just ignore my sudden and lengthy absence from the blogosphere (cue guilty sigh). So let's just be real here: sometimes life gets in the way of what we love, am I right? Well, between going back to school last year and moving house so many times that I now confuse geographical details of my own life events (true story) -among other things- I really sort of lost touch with the things I loved (and still love) most. This blog being among that list might explain the neglected state of things lately.

So, in an effort to throw myself back into the blogging world of beauty, I'm going to attempt to list a few of my New Year's resolutions for 2014. You might be thinking it's a tad late to be listing my hopefuls for the coming year what with it being February and all... and to that I say better late than never! Also, I've included a few of my favorite Instagram photos from recent months to help round out this chatty update post of mine. Enjoy, hopefully.

End apologetic intro. Commence blog jargon after the jump.

Now, let's get to listing some of those lovely little resolutions that everyone seems to make at the start of each year. And for the sake of saving you from having to scroll through the usual year-end promises to eat better and actually exercise (count me in though!), let's just stick to blog-relevant things, shall we?

In 2014 I plan to:

  • Blog more, of course.
  • Be more consistent overall with posting varied content.
  • Create a blog schedule like all the fancy bloggers do (and boy, do they do it well).
  • Shop less. My VIB Rouge status at Sephora is good through 2014- enough said.
  • Shop my own stash more. I honestly have more makeup than I could ever finish by myself, but I'd like to at least try!
  • Finally film and upload YouTube beauty videos! It's been a dream of mine for too long now. Time to make it a reality.
  • STAHPPP biting my sad little nails!!! Quitting this ugly habit has and always will be a struggle for me, but this will be the year! Helpful suggestions welcome and appreciated.
  • Master winged eyeliner. Yes.
  • Wear false lashes. Can you believe that I never have? I consider myself pretty blessed in the lash department but it couldn't hurt to experiment.
  • Go for bold lipstick more often. I started doing this a bit towards the end of 2013 but I still want to step up my game in the statement lip department.
  • Contour my face, because I really never do.
  • Use bronzer more, because I hoard them like I love a good tan when I really just want a healthy glow for my ghostly fair skin.
  • Maintain a set morning and evening skincare routine...without skipping any steps. I sometimes neglect the morning skincare bit because honestly, I'm the antithesis of a morning person.
Well I think that's a good list to start with, at least for now. I'm sure there's a few I'm forgetting but it's a great start. Definitely doable, no? And yes, I do have normal day-to-day resolutions that pertain to my more personal life- I just felt like including the things that I myself would enjoy reading upon visiting a blog á la beauty.

And with that, I'll leave you to some photo faves from my Insta-life. Feel free to click any below to be taken to its original IG post for more info!
So tell me, what are some of your 2014 resolutions- beauty or otherwise? Let me know in the comments below!

    1. Aww Sam of course that's allowed haha! Thank you sooo much for continuing to support me through my days of being MIA! You just made my day. <3

And that's such an awesome resolution girl!! I'd be happy to help whenever you need it- just shoot me an email! :)

I also really recommend checking out ViviannaDoesMakeup on YouTube- she has a video playlist with Lily Pebbles that talks all about starting a blog and/or YouTube channel. I definitely found them to be really helpful even though I already have some blogging experience! :)

  2. I'm so glad you let us all know through IG about your blog. Great resolutions. Here's a tip for the nail issue: try to always have a base coat / nail polish on. I've heard people tend to bite their nails less because they taste bad if you have a layer of polish on top.

I hope to see you on YouTube soon! XOXO

    1. Oh that actually works for me! Well, for the most part anyway haha. It's a stress habit for me so quitting is even more difficult because I don't notice when I do it. I think my main problem is that I've never kept up with any of the methods that could help, but this year I plan on being diligent and more consistent. Thanks girl! XOXO

    1. But then I'll wind up with polish particles in my teeth because I usually bite my nails absentmindedly and when I'm stressed. I'm definitely going with the clear coat option though- I have this nail growth treatment that has a super glossy finish so there's that anyway. Thanks Amber.

    2. well... that would be funny.
clear coat would work. seiche vite has THE BEST clear coat... ever.
this is the top coat, which i recommened even if you are just doing the clear coat:

or they also have a great base coat from what I've heard. No personal experience with this one though.

    3. Oh yeah I have Seche Vite & it really is lovely. So glossy! I'm on the fence about the ingredients though. I'm currently using a Sally Hansen nail treatment & loving it!
